Holy Trinity
Tauranga is an Anglican church and has been around for over 125 years. The
buildings are at the heart of Tauranga's central business district which means
the church is very involved in the daily life of the city itself.
We are committed
to being a place of God's healing. We aim to demonstrate this through providing
a variety of opportunities for prayer for healing and through our pastoral care
programme. Over the years many people have found God's healing and hope when
life had becomes difficult.
Holy Trinity is an
evangelical church which means we believe evangelism is a central part of the
Christian gospel. For this reason the church is actively involved in promoting
and running the Alpha programme for the local community and is likewise active
in Global evangelism through overseas mission. Being an evangelical church also
means we see the Bible as authoritive in our Church life.
In 1999 the
original building was burnt to the ground through an arson attack. This
incident catalysed a new building project that had long been the dream of the
congregation and has resulted in a facility that seats nearly 900 people and is
used seven days a week. Apart from providing a base from which our diverse
ministries operate, the facility is also used extensively by the community for
civic and entertainment purposes.
The church community is made up of a variety of age ranges and our ministries represent this.
