Giving

The ARK is owned and operated by Holy Trinity Church. It was established in 1984 as a Mission
to provide a quality child care and support for families.
Our Philosophy
Our vision is to provide
a quality Christian child-care centre that provides preschool children with a
nurturing learning environment thereby positively impacting their families and
community for God.
Values:
Christian - Our teachers and the
curriculum will reflect our belief that each child is a unique gift from God.
Curriculum - Through the application
and integration of Te Whariki and DOP’s, we will provide a caring, stimulating,
multicultural and educational programme that recognises each child as an individual and encourages
them to be all God has intended
them to be.
Treaty of Waitangi - We will provide an
environment and educational programme that respects Te Tiriti O Waitangi and
incorporates Te Reo Maori and Tikanga Maori as part of the daily life of the
centre.
Staff - We will recruit and
develop staff that fully support and expound our Christian beliefs.
Staff are expected to improve their skills and abilities through the
attendance of courses, participation in performance appraisals and other
suitable methods.
Community - We
recognise the value God has placed on families in the community.
We will strengthen and support our
families through our programmes, relationships and other social services
provided through Holy Trinity.
We are licensed for 45 children from 6mths to 5years.
Hours - The Centre is open Monday to Friday 7.45-5.15pm including the school holidays. The centre is closed on Sat. Sun. and for two weeks over Christmas, and any Public Holiday. You will not be charged when the centre is closed.
We aim to provide a challenging and
interesting environment, based on our philosophy and our curriculum Te Whariki.
We encourage an inquiry based learning
environment from the children’s
interests and also their families interests.
We have individual portfolios and learning
stories as our formal assessment for planning and evaluating each child.
Parents/caregivers/whanau and your child
are welcome to look at your child’s portfolio.
Parent involvement is encouraged, and this is shown by
the Parents Voice forms.
We ask that you take time to visit and stay at the centre with your child, prior to enrolment, this helps to build your relationship with the staff, and allow the staff to get to know your family and their needs.
