Paul and Dale have accepted an offer
to become co-vicars of Holy Trinity in October.
Paul has, since 1996, been Vicar at All Saints,
Hataitai in Wellington [the airport end of the Mt Victoria tunnel]. He
has been heavily involved in leadership of New Wine [formerly Anglican Renewal
Ministries] and is chairman of AFFIRM [an Anglican theological forum]. Paul has
a B.Theology [Otago] and a M.Philosphy [Nottingham].
Dale has been in parish ministry since
1990, and is at present Archdeacon of Wellington while she completes a PhD. She
also has a BA and a B.Divinity [Otago]. Dale has been involved in ARMNZ/New
Wine ministries having established and led the first Summer Wine camp in the
South Island and led two of the North Island Summer Wines.
The Williamsons have been married for 31 years, and have 5 children [ages 30-21]: Felicity, Natalie [m.Lachlan, son James], Elizabeth [m.Logan], David and Peter. Paul’s early childhood was in England before moving to Manurewa in 1963; Dale hails from a Te Awamutu dairy family. Their early ministry years were in Otago and Southland with two years ministry in England.
Paul and Dale have recently been
visiting larger churches during a 3-month sabbatical. The Williamsons will
be installed by Bishop John Bluck as co-vicars at Holy Trinity on Sunday,
October 7 at 2.30pm.
